MOSCOW, Dec 7 (PRIME) -- State industrial corporation Rostec plans to start production of the updated version of the Sukhoi Superjet (SSJ) plane in 2024, CEO Sergei Chemezov told reporters on Monday.
“We are now working on a new version of the aircraft – SSJ New. This does not mean that it is fundamentally changing, no. It is about replacing import components with domestic ones. Including the engine. It is planned that certification of the PD-8 engine will be completed in 2023, and a new vehicle will appear ... SSJ New supplies are tied to the PD-8 engine. I hope it will be certified in 2023, in 2024 it is planned to release a new version of the aircraft,” Chemezov said.
